I keep it on my desk in my fabric-covered box (cubicle) at work. It gets plenty of knowing-grins.

Great Heavy Duty Stapler
I had been fed up with my plastic Swingline stapler -- it wasn't smooth & when it had less than 10 staples left it would jam. So I decided to buy a new one...heck, I needed to add to an order to get Free Super Saver Shipping, so why not a new stapler? I wasn't going to fork over the extra $5 for red, but then I realized that my office is usually such a disaster, that having a red stapler would make it easier to find when I needed it (this has proven true!) This stapler is heavy duty and staples soooo smoothly, I hardly need to press down on it to staple the pages, much different than the cheap plastic one I've been using for years. I'm very happy with my new stapler!

Good quality
Good quality stapler, should last for the rest of my life. Used a couple dollar Walmart one prior, just hit that point in my life where it needed to be upgraded.

Fantastic
I love this stapler, plain and simple. I have yet to have it bind and I have used it extensively since I received it several weeks ago. Rotating staple plate for two different bends on the wire and the staple capacity of a full stick plus a bit. The red color is the icing on the cake, but I would buy it regardless due to it's reliability.

Works well and it's fun
What more could you want? I'm using regular generic office staples, and so far I've stapled 13 sheets with no problem (It's rated for 20 @20# bond). I was worried about some of the early reviews stating the stapler was salmon or orangish in color. I'm happy to say the stapler I received is as red as arterial blood (I DO work at a hospital ;-). Besides the homage to Office Space, it replaces my work-supplied "EXP" generic-branded stapler. It was a real wimp. This stapler rocks.
I did confirm the piece that holds the top and bottom together is plastic just like another reviewer stated (the 1-star). Hopefully this won't affect the reliability of my stapler.
Just looking at it now makes me want to go home and watch Office Space again.

Stapler
It is 9 of 10 product quality. It is about what you see on a picture that's what you going to get. Overall, I would recommend buying it.

works great
I've had this for awhile, and for the little use I use it for it seems to work great. It does not come with staples so make sure you buy some if you don't already own some.

Solid, functional stapler
This stapler looks professional, is heavy-duty enough to staple most things reliably, rarely jams, and will last a lifetime. The no-wobble design is a relief after using other flimsy staplers that tend to fall over when used on a desktop. This stapler handles all of my stapling needs, as I use mini or larger binder clips for anything too big for this beauty to handle. You can't go wrong with this stapler.

The only stapler you should consider
Simple solid, heavy, it works. Buy this and throw the little plastic junk staplers away.

One tough stapler
Built the way they used to build them. No Namby-Pamby soft springs or wiggly parts.
Ergonomic, streamlined and solid. A worthy utilitarian tool to grace my desktop.

Is there a button I need to push somewhere?
Yes, there is a 'tab' on the underside of the stapler that will release the top section

Does anyone know how to fix a jammed Swingline heavy duty stapler?
Aug 15, 2007 by ♥Sweet Ape | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
I can't seem to get the staplers out so I can attach the spring again.
Sounds like either or both of 2 things: too many staples put into stapler and they are jammed together, and/or you have a staple jammed at the 'business' end...take the spring assembly out and tap the back end (where you insert the staples) onto a piece of wood (oh no, not granny's antique dining table!) vigorously, trying to get the jammed staples to fall out. If that isn't doing the job, try to bend a paper clip and 'fish' the staples out. I've "been there, done that" and it's frustrating but do-able.

My swingline stapler will bend the staples inward or outward. does anyone know why it does this?
Mar 13, 2007 by hadtojointopost | Posted in Engineering
If you look at you stapler (as least my swingline has this) you can rotate the plate that bends the staples ends 180 degrees. one way bends them inward (normal) the other bends them outwards.
If the staples are bent outward, it is easier to remove them. This can be used for temporary stapeling.

Excuse me, but does a Swingline stapler work better than a Boston?
