What's the best kind of paper for making a realistic A4 poster? I'll use an HP ink jet printer with my PC.
I want to make a realistic looking poster. I have the image ready on my pc and i have an HP ink jet printer. I want the paper to look like the shiny, thin paper that real posters are made from. It has to be A4 sized and not too expensive! Any suggestions? I'm not neccessarily looking for specific brands just the kind of paper. Thanks.
Contact a local paper merchant and ask for some "gloss coated, inkjet compatible" paper. They will have several weights (thickness) to choose from. They will probably not have it in A-4 but you can get some larger sheets and cut it to size.
Paper merchants are the places where print shops go to buy there paper. (((Not office supply stores!!!)))

What is the best large format printer for printing onto canvas and paper and poster paper and vinyl?
you are looking for a plotter. Epson and Canon both make some very nice high resolution plotters. You will want to check the availability of the papers for each (and the cost) however both can printer onto vinyl and canvas designed for inkjets.
How do I print a poster from regular size printer paper?
I'm looking for a freeware program that will split a large graphic onto multiple sheets of standard (8.5" x "11"?) printer paper. It doesn't have to be super hi-res, it's just text and I want to make a template for a sign (about 36" x 48") that I'm painting. I was hoping to tape the sheets together, lay it on the sign and then cut out the letters to spray paint the letters. A friend of mine used to do this a long time ago, I think the software was "Printmaster Gold" or something? Any advice greatly appreciated, thanks.
Sierra Print Artist (it's a cd and you need to install it), i'm not really sure if it's sold in other countries but it's available here in the Philippines.

actually you can use normal 128gsm art paper (it's glossier) but for eg in cinemas, they use a film material.

I had a program before that would print different areas of the picture on 81/2 by 11 paper out my printer and it would be a big poster when i put it all together. But i lost that CD.
