Preferred pencil
Those in the know ask for pencils by brand name, and these are the ones they like. Sharpen well, write smoothly (not at all scratchy) don't break easily, have good quality erasers on the end. We always buy this brand and will continue to do so.
Excellent Graphite Never Fades, But Erases Unwanted Old Flames Well
At a cafe, I doodled on a newspaper with my Dixon Ticonderoga pencil. As a classic #2, the soft graphite was dark, thick and steady, working well on the dim white recycled newsprint. Against the cafe's smell of burnt coffee rested the subtle sweet smell of wood freshly sharpened.

In walked an extraordinary beauty. How many years had passed since I first saw her here? No, this isn't the time for that. She was here. That mattered. What happened 10 years ago needed to be forgotten. She smiled and called me over. "Nancy," I said. And then, more was said, with more smiles.

Three hours and a loaf of bread later, it was time to go. Nancy grabbed her address book and a pen. She asked me my e-mail address while adjusting her lipstick. She took my pencil and wrote 'Brockeim' in flowing black-gray letters with curves like waves, yet completely legible. She could have used a pen, I noticed. She didn't. I have not heard from her since.

May your Dixon pencils never fade, and the tips never break.

Great pencil, history
Since Ticonderoga pencils have been around for decades, you come to expect great quality. Although no longer made here for some reason, they have managed to maintain their superior quality. We use these exclusively in our schools and there's never a worry about the durability of them during test time. I do suggest, however, that you get the ones with the Microban to help ward of germs. LOVE those! Highly recommend!
Pre sharpened pencils are the way to go for back to school!
I've never been able to find presharpened pencils for my kids for the start of the school year. It sure beats sharpening 60 pencils!
Great Pencils - Highly Recommended!
These are sturdy pencils that have strong leads and good erasers. I also like that the paint doesn't chip and flake with normal use. We use a lot of these #2 yellow pencils for our small business and with our two school aged kids, and never had any problems with the quality of these.

Recommended!

How do you make a pencil? With out using wood rubber and graphite?

For one of my classes I have to make a pencil that can write and erase on paper, but I am not allowed to use anything for a real pencil (wood rubber and graphite).
So I have thought of so far thought I could possbley use charcoal or somthing like that?
So if you have any Ideas can you please tell me? Thank you.
Ps. THIS IS NOT A RIDDLE THIS IS A REAL ASSIGNMENT!

oh, great. Cheating on a thinking assignment. What were you thinking. lol They teach so little thinking in school, we can hardly miss a class. Oh, well, at least we can learn networking that way. Maybe.

yes, charcol would bee good. so would slate. that would erace better.

Your charcoal idea could work.

Maybe use charcoal and clay. If you can't find a good way to incorporate clay into the charcoal for your pencil, you could at least use clay as the eraser. Check out these links.

Take a stick.

Burn it.

Carefully, gently, and lightly draw on paper.

Blow off excess dust.

Erase as needed.

Which is more enviromentaly friendly a plastic mechanical pencil or a regular wood pencil?

Saving our planet has to begin somewhere.

Environmental friendly per se refers to the realization of and guarding against global issues like:
1)land degradation 2)deforestation 3)pollution and 4)erosion among many.
plastic mechanical pencils are friendly because recycling of plastics is a way of controlling land pollution as opposed to wood pencils which encourage deforestation.

How do you remove grease pencil marks from wood or steel?

Anyone who has shopped at thrift stores knows they usually price the items with a grease pencil. Does anybody have a good recipe for removing the marks from wood and/or steel without ruining the item?

There is a product on the market called "Goo Gone"...it's perfect for grease pencils, sticky residue from price stickers, etc. It's readily available at hardware stores, WalMart, etc. and it'll work on any surface without damage.

Good Luck!

Winter fashion in 2010 wrapped up

Drudgery those pretty au naturel, skin and peach shades. Look to Thurley, Ellery, Alannah Hill, Mrs. Gentlemen of the press and Fleur Wood. "There is a lot of peach but it isn't massive on every skin reduce," designer Fleur Wood says. "Overwhelm way to wear peach is to combine it up with another colour like denim or aqua filthy, break it up." Kirrily Johnston has done some of the coolest colour tones this mature. Her Elements drawstring skirt, maxi one's glad rags b put on a costume and blush bend boot are highlights. The Chanel haute couture show in Paris this month emphasised that good-looking is here to stay.

Keep it tailored

Smooth on top and sleek below, the pencil skirt is another key look and a outstanding wardrobe elementary to build upon. Zimmermann has added phlegmatic zipper tools to its pencil skirt. "Our look is more cultivated this season," inventor Nicky Zimmermann says. "It's penetrating and more sculptural and tailoring is key. Principled by chance our fabrics came back a cheap stiff but as a d they have worked literatim with our new silhouette." Max Mara, Chloe and CK Calvin Klein also do the pencil superiority than most.

Jumpsuit for joy

Not for all but the jumpsuit is everywhere. It was betrothed at first sight when Kerr slipped into Bianca Spender's cobalt dirty all-in-one. Her perfect proportions made it look, well, absolute. Harries names Zampatti snr's jumpsuit as his pick. "Carla's highlight remnant for winter has to be her malicious velvet jumpsuit. It is staggering." Sabatini has done a easygoing take in black jersey.
