What a Great Shredder!!!!
I purchased this shredder because my old Fellowes shredder bit the dust.... I had it about 6 yrs. and it worked great for my needs.... I seen this one and read the reviews and thought it would be perfect for me.... Well I was RIGHT! :) This is a great shredder.... As soon as I got it, I put it to work... I had lots, and lots of stuff that needed to be shredded since my old one broke.... it handled all the paper like a dream, and a couple of old credit cards as well.... shredded so nicely and I was surprised that it was quiter than my old one too... I mean it's not super quite, it is a shredder! But it was not as noisy as my old one.... and I like the fellowes brand and know they have good quality products out there.... so I'm thrilled with this baby! I also got the lubricant to keep my shredder around for a long time! Well worth the cost to keep my privacy private! :)

just quit working one day for absolutely no reason
while this shredder worked fine when it worked, after about 1.5 years, it just stopped working one day - short? not sure. disappointed for the price of this thing!!!

Metal cutting blades...
I was just remarking to my husband how much quieter this shredder is than the one we just replaced. Then as I began writing my review, I noticed how others say this shredder is noisy. Anyway, my hubby and I are happy with the sound, because it is quiet as far as we're concerned.
Our old, inexpensive, cross-cut shredder was small which didn't bother us. It was the first one we ever owned & was advertised to shred credit cards and paper. We didn't mind emptying it more often. We shredded credit cards with it, and it handled about seven pieces of paper at a time. After about five years, it wasn't working efficiently and would only shred papers that we put along the edges. We discovered that the shredder had plastic & metal cutting blades. The plastic pieces were bent, some were ripped, probably from shredding credit cards; this is what prevented it from working properly. So we made sure to buy a shredder with all metal blades. The Fellowes Powershred W-11C Cross-Cut Shredder (3103201) fit the bill and has been working fine for us. We've been using it about 6 weeks now. I will update this review, if any problems develop.

Noisy but works extremely well
The reviews that say this is noisy weren't kidding. Much louder than my previous Fellowes shredder but also shreds much faster and no jams so far. Very good product for the money if you don't mind the noise.

it broke within 3 minutes
I just bought this item to shred junk mail and some personal stuff. Within three minutes, it stopped working! I didn't put too much in and was working fine...then it just stopped and it doesnt appear that it is jammed. It must be electrical?

A quiet shredder
This shredder performs as advertised. Very quiet and efficient. Not so sure about the usefulness of the plastic bags for the waste hopper. Just makes emptying the hopper easier. I don't see myself buying replacement bags.

FINALLY, A SHREDDER THAT WORKS!
We have gone through several shredders over the years, none of which we ever really liked, and all of which jammed and eventually became un-usable. This Fellowes shredder is the BEST shredder we have owned. It is quiet, shreds without jamming, easy to use, and came with oil and a starter supply of bags. Amazon.Com has THE BEST price anywhere.....at least $40 less than the competition. We ordered ours and had it delivered via FedEx the very next day!!! We highly recommend this shredder for anyone who is looking for a dependable, quiet, and jam-free shredder. You will not be disappointed!

Great Shreader-Quiet & Robust
I purchased the Fellowes 3227901 Intellishred PS-79Ci Shredder to replace the third dead "cheap" shredder that I kept having to buy every two years or so. I selected it mainly due to the superior Amazon reviews that it received and the Amazon price was better than local office supply stores. The shredder is very well constructed and goes through multiple sheets of paper with very little effort. Compared to the "cheap" shredders that I have bought in the past it is very quiet, powerful, and safe. I think this one will last for a while.
The only complaint that I have is with empting the container. The inside of the container has several sharp places that catch and tear the disposable plastic bag. The first time I emptied it the bag tore and shredded paper spilled out making a mess. This is the only reason I gave it 4 stars.
So far I have shredded several hundred sheets of paper with this unit and like it very much.

A good job!
The shredder does a really good job. If I were to change anything it would be the
size of the bag. If I do a lot of shredding I have to change the bag more often
than I would like.

Make your shreader last
This is a nice investment to make your shreader last longer. I have shredded over 3 full baskets of paper. Today was the first time I used the oil. I know I should have used this oil earlier and often since the manual suggest one should regularly use after bin is full or if capacity decreases, motor sounds different or sherdder stops running. It was not messy for me like some people might have said. You don't have to use a lot. It was used when the basket was full so that if you did use more than necessary it was collected on the cuttings and leaving the basket free from any oils. To me it did seem to be cutting like it was knew when I first received it back about a year ago.

but really it doesn't have to be that kind oil and food oil can do the same exact job ,,it's just the bottle you will need some a bottle with the same head so u dont make a mess

Expensive Fellowes shredder oil
In order to properly test my new Fellowes shredder after buying it, I thought it best to initially use their products with it. So, along with their bags, I also purchased their oil. I haven't shopped around for shredder oil, but this oil seemed rather expensive. It does work well, just costly.

I believe you are talking about a strip cut shredder. You may want to check out a cross cut shredder, they are more secure.

i recently buy Fellowes office paper shredder from Clary's Online paper shredders store http://www.fellowes-shredder.com and its working very well but for some security and care reason i wants to know how many times i have to oil and maintenance my paper shredder?
I would recommend oiling it at least every 2-3 days if you are using it regularly. I have been using one for about 3 years now, shredding 50-75 pages a day and it has worked like a charm. It has never needed any other maintenance.

The answer to your question is Yes. It even has a convenient guide that makes shredding CDs very easy. I have personally used the shredder and really like it. It can also shred credit cards if the need ever arises.
