Great design, good quality, just what I was looking for.
I,ve had serveral cheap 'reel type" badge holders over the years that had the belt clip style of clip. The Carabiner clip is easier to use more versatile. I carry an ID badge and a card reader door/gate pass and I need to unclip it from my belt several times daily. When I drive upto a driveway gate card reader,I just unhook the biner, reach out the car window and swipe the card, and reclip it back on.The quality seems better than most. The black and chrome looks good too. I wish I would have found this item sooner. I will buy it again when it wears out. I have used it for only 1 month and so far so good.

Serves It's Purpose
This retractable reel serves its purpose, I'm taking it with me to a music tour to Argentina. I plan to attach it to the belt loop on my shorts, and the other end to the wrist strap on the camera itself. I purchased this to protect my new camera from any pickpocketers. Be Aware: THIS IS A THIN CORD!!! It is a thin nylon cord, only about the width of a line you would draw with your average ballpoint pen. Don't get me wrong, the cord itself is strong, but I'm afraid that some pickpocketer will come up and take the camera, and, as he's running, will yank on the cord, snapping it where it connects to the reel. Although this gives me a larger feeling of security, I wouldn't unravel it as far as it can go.

Very Pleased. Just what I was looking for.
Works great. Seems very durable. Design is attractive. Shipped extremely fast. I am sure I will be buying more. I clipped off the badge portion. I just use them for keys. Hooked to inside of purse. Never have to dig for keys. Also bought for children's backpacks. They do not pull out or unlatch keys so always with book bag.

Great product!! I needed a retractable reel badge holder to attach to my lanyard. It allows me to drive into my work garage and badge easily while always knowing I'm not losing it. It's very sturdy and attractive too.

Get what you pay for
The product is priced well but very flimsy. I only got about a month of use out of this before the string broke. I had four keys attached to it and used it constantly; if you use your keys/ID badge more than twice a day get one with a metal cable.

Very good with a little room for improvement.
To keep a long story short, I love this product. The construction is solid, the nylon cord is thicker than other similar reels, it comes with a button over loop for your ID if you don't already have one, and the price point is commendable. I tend to play with badge reels at work a lot and have a bad tendency of burning through them and this is easily the best example of them I've owned thus far.
If I had to point out one very minor gripe it would be the somewhat limited action of the carabiner's clasp. All of mine only go about half way back which can make for a slightly more involved process of attaching them to moderately thick objects such as a belt loop. It will absolutely connect but it's not like a full sized carabiner (obviously) where you can kind of snatch it on there blindly.
A very good badge reel for a very good price, I highly recommend these.

Great for my office badge
I really like this id card reel. I've used it for my id card only and this works really well. Not sure how it would work with heavier stuff like keys.

Great quick clip
I've been using it for work for about a month now and it's a lot better than the clip on version. I don't have to worry about it fallen off by mistake anymore. It looks and feels great. The item also shipped very fast! Great job :)

Reel Deal
These are so much better than the clip-on type. They last longer, never get lost and have the added benefit of being a conversation piece. Once you get one of these, you will never want a clip-on again.

I like the 'biner'
I very much like the carabiner style to the slip clip. I hook this bad boy on the belt loop and I know it'll be there all day. Reel has smooth action so far. Would recommend.

Just what I needed for work
I'm a nurse in the Air Force and I have to use my government ID card to log on to the computer system. This means I need to carry my ID at all times. With a little tweaking I was able to attach this to my hospital ID badge so I have access to my ID at all times without worry of losing it. I have found the covers to be quite durable as I insert and removed my badge at least 5 times a day. Mind you, they aren't bulletproof but they are the most durable badge cover I've ever used. I passed them out at work and everyone agrees. So far it's been three months and I am still using the same plastic sleeve. Great product.

Good product but not perfect
I bought these badge holders to use as luggage tag holders for guests at our wedding.
These holders did the trick but out of 50 used 4 tore down the sides as I slid the ID paper inside. I was very gentle because I needed at least 40 holders for all of the guests. I found some of the holders to be slightly tighter than others which is probably what caused the tearing. Overall I think these badge holders are a good value for the money but consider that a few have the possibility of being un-usable.

Really keeps it together!
I purchased these for school use and am happy to report that they are really well-made and well-designed. Your badge stays put without slipping out when you add a lanyard, badge clip or slide them on your keychain. They open at the top with the "hole punches" being completely through the entire product unlike some others I came across that just had a pocket without any kind of safeguard/closure to keep your badge in place. Great for swipe cards, too!

can you recommend an ID badge holder that is cheap and durable?
Oct 10, 2008 by dundi | Posted in Grade-Schooler
Looking for something to hold emergency contact info for a group of girl scout brownies, I want it to be something attached, so the girls dont pull them off. Clips won't work. any advice?
thank you for your suggestion, but I have been researching and decided to use baseball card sleeves with hole punch and safety pins! Yea, so cheap!
You could get the ones that snap on and then put duct tape around the snap part... The only way they could take it off is if they somehow got access to a pair of scissors...
EDIT: Your welcome! And that is a good idea.

Do you put stickers and buttons on your work ID badge?
Sep 04, 2008 by Lt. Dan reborn | Posted in Polls & Surveys
Some of my co-workers have stickers, buttons or other bits of trivia on their ID holders. Are you the decorative, festive type person with your ID badge, or are you a low-profile kind of worker? I have seen everything from "I voted" to "I donated blood" to "United Way" on their work IDs...
I was considering adding a sticker about "if it's after 5:00 wake me or check my pulse" but thought the higher-ups might not like it.
On my badge I have a yellow ribbon for our troops & a pink one to support the cure for breast cancer.
I like your idea though..it might raise some eyebrows !!

Mexican ID cards for diplomat bodyguards made of embossed metal with the face of ID holder engraved on it.?
Oct 16, 2007 by Max | Posted in Embassies & Consulates
What can you tell me about this?
I went down to Mexico to do body guarding work for a client. One of the other bodyguards had one of these badges/ID cards. Whenever he showed this badge to a police officer or any military officer he was instantly treated like a VIP and was allowed to go anywhere without him or anybody with him being searched or questioned.
Yes it was in a leather wallet.
Did it have colored enamel, as well, in a leather wallet? If so, it sounds like the official government identity card - not a badge, per se, but no less commanding of attention (of course, everything is available for a price, so even if the body guard did not have any official status, he would be seen as someone who had powerful enough connections).
